I don’t want to write no more
I seem to’ve lost the knack,
I looked for inspiration
but I just can’t get it back.

There was a time I’d write about
whatever came to mind;
it seemed to come so easy, then,
but now it’s hard to find.

The words are somehow all used up
and nowhere to be found,
I’ve looked in every place I could
but they’re just not around.

Even worse, I can’t believe,
my spelling’s gotten bad;
I have the worst of writer’s cramp
I think I’ve ever had.

I’m not sure what will break me
from this awful slump I’m in,
but if there’s something that could work
it’s that I must begin.

And so I did and look at this
I made another rhyme,
I’m back to write another day
and in the nick of time.
