What if these notes didn’t rhyme?
would you even take the …moment?
Would you think they weren’t so witty,
and like the fool you’d give them …condolence?
Sometimes I just can’t find the word
to rhyme with something that I’ve …listened to.
And sometimes when I sit to write,
it doesn’t matter if morning or …evening;
I can’t get past this writer’s block
and so I sit and stare at my …watch.
Perhaps tomorrow I’ll find my mojo,
until then, I’ll be in my …small room.

Extras: I put this together as a bit of a puzzle prank. Each stanza actually does have a rhyming word that has been replaced by a not-so-rhyming synonym.
SPOILER ALERT!…
If you haven’t figured them out, here is the key:
moment/time, condolence/pity, listened-to/heard, evening/night, watch/clock, small room/dojo.
I hope you enjoyed that one! —cary
